BMS QuickBooks Sync Fails for Retainers. - Connect IT Community | Kaseya
<main> <article class="userContent"> <p><strong>Problem: </strong>Exporting invoice to QuickBooks fails with the below error:</p> <p><em>"Failed to Add Line Item (Retainer By Hours) - Missing Income Account Reference - Check your Billing Configuration."</em></p> <p><strong>Cause: </strong>The error is seen when the "Retainer By Hour" Contract does <em>not</em> have a referenced Income Account.</p> <p><strong>Resolution: </strong>Follow these steps to get it resolved:</p> <ul><li>Open up BMS</li> <li>Navigate to <strong>Finance > Contracts</strong> </li> <li>Open the Contract and select the <strong>Tax Settings</strong> tab</li> <li>Reference the <strong>Income Account</strong> for the retainer on the contract level </li> <li>Restart the sync tool:</li> </ul><p><img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6032361/uploads/migrated/ROU34D4GTC5Q/mceclip0.png" alt="image" class="embedImage-img importedEmbed-img"></img></p> </article> </main>
