Some DGE(x) services do not start up after an upgrade - Error 1053 - Connect IT Community | Kaseya
<main> <article class="userContent"> <p><strong>Problem: </strong>After upgrading a DGE/DGEx, the 'File Synchronization Client', 'Data Gathering Engine' and 'Message Handler' services do not start. Trying to start the services via services.msc results in the below error. asadas</p> <p>"Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.</p> <p> <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6032361/uploads/migrated/7A9RD1I419AG/error-1053-services-wont-start.png" alt="Error_1053_Services_wont_start.png" class="embedImage-img importedEmbed-img"></img></p> <p><strong>Cause: </strong>The server does not have all the latest Windows Updates installed which is preventing the services from starting up.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Solution: </strong>Fully patch the server with the latest Windows updates.</p> <p>(<strong>From a previous Incident on Server 2003, this was resolved once Service Pack 1 was installed and the server was restarted</strong>)</p> </article> </main>
