<main> <article class="userContent"> <p><strong>Problem</strong></p> <p>Unable to establish private Remote Control session or use 1-Click Access to Windows 10 machine.</p> <p><strong>Cause</strong></p> <p>Kaseya Remote Control requires a Windows Remote Desktop connection without Network Level Authentication (NLA). This requires changes to default security settings.</p> <p><strong>Resolution</strong></p> <p>1) Remote Desktop Settings in System Properties must be configured this way<img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6032361/uploads/migrated/SGB0N4MOSCQK/system-remote-settings.png" alt="system_remote_settings.png" class="embedImage-img importedEmbed-img"></img></p> <p> </p> <p>OR</p> <p>the following GPO's are configured</p> <p>- <strong>Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Security:<br>Require user authentication for remote connections by using Network Level Authentication</strong> is set to "disabled"</p> <p>- <strong>Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Connections:<br>Allow users to connect remotely by using Remote Desktop Services</strong> is set to "enabled"</p> <p>NOTE - if GPO's are either enabled or disabled, it will override the System Properties. If GPO's are set to "not configured", the System Properties will apply instead.</p> <p>2) registry value "SecurityLayer" in <em>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\</em> is set to 0 or 1 <strong>(1 is recommended as it will still allow NLA by other applications)</strong> - this is required regardless of how System Properties is set.</p> <p> </p> </article> </main>
