When attempting to launch Classic Remote Control or Live Connect in Chrome, nothing occurs and you are met with a prompt suggesting to download Live Connect when it is already installed.
Chrome utilizes protocol handlers to manage URI schemes. When a new application such as Live Connect is installed, Chrome would ask whether you'd like to use Live Connect as the default application for the protocol (kaseyaliveconnect://). When this prompt is ignored or canceled, the browser will no longer know what application to use at the time of the request.
- Navigate to %localappdata%\Google\Chrome\User Data.
- Search for Local State and edit with Notepad.
- Find "kaseyaliveconnect" and you'll see
"kaseyaliveconnect":true -- delete this line.
- Save the file.
- Restart Chrome.
kaseyaliveconnect:\\ in the browser.
If a pop up indicates an attempt to launch Live Connect but crashes, we know that the URI is now properly registered.
- Launch Live Connect via the VSA to confirm.
