<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>A bere metal restore of a Windows 2003 server may fail to set the IP address if a Broadcom NetXtreme II NIC is in use.</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <h3 data-id="purpose">Purpose</h3> <p>BareMetal drivers for Broadcom NetExteme II NIC</p> <h3 data-id="applies-to">Applies To</h3> <p>Windows Bare Metal restore; Windows 2003 client</p> <h3 data-id="symptoms-description">Symptoms / Description</h3> <p>When booting the Bare Metal boot media, the software is unable to set the IP address.</p> <h3 data-id="cause">Cause</h3> <p>The WinPE environment is unable to find the correct driver for Broadcom NetXtreme II NIC.</p> <h3 data-id="resolution-workaround-execution-process">Resolution / Workaround / Execution Process</h3> <p>If you run into a Broadcom NetExteme II NIC, you will need to inject the Windows 2003 32 bit RIS drivers for the NIC to work with the BareMetal PE I media (created from Win 2k3).
