<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>After updating ESX on one or more hosts you may see an error on backup suggesting that your host is unlicensed</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <p>After updating ESX on one or more hosts you may see an error on backup suggesting that your host is unlicensed.</p> <p>The cause is that updating the hosts often reassigns a new UUID to the host under VMware and this new UUIID no longer matches the UUID the license was assigned to.</p> <p>To correct this issue, restart the PHD Console by closing, then reopening it, then use the License Manager area to re-apply the license to all hosts and PHD VBAs and click Save.</p> </article> </main>
