Steps to resolve "Failed to create VM" error
If you are experiencing issues while restoring virtual machines, specifically, if the restore fails with an error “Failed to create VM,” please review the following:
- Ensure that the account used by PHD Virtual has administrator privileges (PHD Console > Configuration > General tab).
- If the connection to the vSphere client is using FQDN, try using the IP address, instead.
- Reboot the PHD VBA. This will free up any processing and will refresh the connection to the hypervisor.
