<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>SNMP MIB for Unitrends traps and gets</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <h2 data-id="purpose">Purpose</h2> <p>Provide an SNMP MIB for interpreting traps.</p> <h2 data-id="description">Description</h2> <p>An SNMP trap receiver uses SNMP MIBs to interpret traps that it receives. This SNMP MIB describes the Unitrends SNMP traps. Both customers and vault administrators use MIBs at the remote monitoring and management (RMM) station that is the trap destination.</p> <h2 data-id="resolution">Resolution</h2> <p>The unitrends.mib file is attached which describes the Unitrends traps and their associated variables. Each trap can have several different notifications.</p> <p>On a Linux system the MIB should be copied to /usr/share/snmp/mibs/UNITRENDS-MIB.txt.</p> <p>Also attached is an snmp_trap.xls spreadsheet which enumerates all of the notifications that can occur and the text associated with each. </p> <p>With Unitrends release 7.2.0 and later, an SNMP agent supporting SNMP gets with SNMP version 1, 2c, and 3 is supported and has been added to the MIB. In the initial release, configuring SNMP v3 user/passwords is not available from the UI but can be done from the command line as follows:</p> <pre class="code codeBlock" spellcheck="false" tabindex="0"> /usr/bp/bin/cmc_snmpd script user create </pre> <p>This script defaults to auth type MD5 and privacy/encryption of DES.<span id="cke_bm_85E"> </span></p> </article> </main>
