Custom scripts can be used to perform log truncation or other actions on your individual virtual machines.</p> <p><strong>Note</strong>: Running custom scripts after a backup is supported on VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines.</p> <p>Running post backup scripts are supported on the following operating systems:</p> <ul><li>Windows Server 2012</li> <li>Windows Server 2008</li> <li>Window 7 and 8</li> </ul><p>Scripts can be run after every backup completes or only after a successful backup. This is set using the <strong>Post</strong> <strong>Backup</strong> <strong>Script</strong> option in the Backup Dialog for each individual VM. To run a custom script, the script file must be copied to the virtual machine client and stored in the following directory (this directory must be created):</p> <p>C:\Windows\PHD\PostBackup.bat</p> <p>If required, administrator credentials must also be set for each VM. You can set the user name and password to use to run the scripts by editing the VM settings on the <strong>Protect</strong> page. Select the VM then click <strong>Edit</strong> <strong>Settings</strong> to open the settings dialog and enter the credentials to use.</p> </article> </main>
