<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>Error: Failed to determine the client and instance for archive applications</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <h3 data-id="purpose">Purpose</h3> <p>If archiving is failing to qeue and you receive the following error message.</p> <p>Error: Failed to determine the client and instance for archive applications</p> <h3 data-id="description">Description</h3> <p>You will receive the following error message</p> <p>Error: Failed to determine the client and instance for archive applications and archiving will fail to queue.</p> <h3 data-id="cause">Cause</h3> <p>During an update the master.ini name will get congulated and may get mixed up with an older hostname or the hosts file entries do not line up.</p> <h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution</h3> <p>In the User Interface, go to Configure and then Settings. Once here look under the Configuration Options folder. Check the value of Unitrends Appliance name and make sure the ip correlates . </p> <p>If the Unitrends Appliance does not match the hostname fix the hosts table value to match.</p> <div> </div> </article> </main>
