<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>Networking and storage issues encountered when booting from the Windows integrated bare metal recovery ISO image</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <h3 data-id="purpose">Purpose</h3> <p>To explain networking and storage issues you might encounter when booting the restore destination machine from a Windows integrated bare metal recovery ISO.</p> <h3 data-id="description">Description</h3> <p>When booting the destination machine for the recovery, you might see a message stating that you must set up networking to continue or that no disks are detected on the local system.</p> <h3 data-id="cause">Cause</h3> <p>WinPE 4.0, the minimal version of Windows used for the restore, cannot detect a network adapter or storage disks.</p> <h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution</h3> <p>WinPE 4.0 is based on Windows 8, so you must add Windows 8 drivers for the restore. Click <b>Ok</b> to allow the boot to continue, and you can load drivers as part of the first step in the Windows Integrated Bare Metal Recovery Wizard.</p> <ul></ul> </article> </main>
