<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>This article explains how to resolve an error when booting a (new) VMware UEB deployment fails with a Kernel Panic and a VMware popup stating that the VM OS has disabled the CPU</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <h3 data-id="purpose">Purpose</h3> <p>Resolving error when booting a (new) VMware UEB deployment fails with a Kernel Panic and a VMware popup stating that the VM OS has disabled the CPU</p> <h3 data-id="description">Description</h3> <p>When booting up a UEB either new or otherwise (I have not verified the existing UEB having this issue, but I do not see why it would not) it fails with a Kernel panic and a popup message from VMware stating that the Guest OS has Disabled the CPU.</p> <h3 data-id="cause">Cause</h3> <p>You have attached VMDK files from a previous Unitrends deployment</p> <h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution</h3> <p>Delete the VMs on disk, including the UEB deployment, redeploy the UEB and create new backup data VMDKs</p> </article> </main>
