<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>What programs need to be excluded from Windows Firewall?</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <h3 data-id="purpose">Purpose</h3> <p>What executable do I need to exclude from Windows Firewall?</p> <h3 data-id="description">Description</h3> <p>If you’re backing up a Windows client with Windows Firewall enabled, you must add the Unitrends WBPS.exe and bpnetd.exe programs as exceptions to the firewall rules.</p> <h3 data-id="cause">Cause</h3> <p> </p> <h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution</h3> <p>From the Windows Control Panel, select Windows Firewall. When the program loads, select advanced options to create new rules.</p> <p>Right-click on Inbound rules and select New Rule. Select Program and click Next. In the This program path field, browse to C:\PCBP\bpnetd.exe and click Open. Click Next. Click Allow the connection and click Next. Allow the rule to apply in the appropriate locations and click Next. Give the rule a name and click Finish.</p> <p>Right-click on Outbound rules and select New Rule. Select Program and click Next. In the This program path field, browse to C:\PCBP\WBPS.exe and click Open. Click Next. Click Allow the connection and click Next. Allow the rule to apply in the appropriate locations and click Next.
