<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>How to resolve recovery issues related to appliance IP address changes.</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p>If your environment goes offline for an extended period of time, DHCP-enabled appliances may receive new IP addresses from the DHCP server. This may disrupt your ability to recover your data until the actions below are taken. </p> <h2 data-id="resolution"><strong>RESOLUTION</strong></h2> <p></p> <ul><li>Solaris 8 and AIX agents must be updated with the new appliance IP in order to restore bare metal recovery functionality. </li> <li>If the appliance IP change occurs after boot media has been created for Windows image-based bare metal recovery, the boot media must be re-created with the new IP address before recovery can proceed. </li> <li>Following appliance IP change, new full backups are required for Oracle on Windows assets.</li> <li>If the appliance IP change occurs after boot media has been created for Linux, MAC or Solaris 9/10 bare metal recovery, the boot media must be updated with the new appliance IP address.</li> </ul><br><br><br><br><br><br> <h2 data-id="tasks"><strong>TASKS</strong></h2> <p><b>To update Solaris 8 and AIX agents with the new appliance IP address</b><br>Open /usr/bp/bpinit/master.ini and modify the value Server1 (which can be found under Server Information) with the new appliance IP address. <br><br><br><br> </p> </article> </main>
