When you set credentials for your VMware virtual machines, the Unitrends Virtualization Protector discovers any applications hosted on your VMs and leverages VSS writers to quiesce data and perform any necessary post-backup processing, such as log truncation.</p> <p>Application-aware protection is available only for VMware backups.
