For upgrade instructions and considerations, reference the <a href="https://kaseya.vanillacommunities.com/kb/articles/aliases/unitrends/hc/en-us/articles/360013187317" rel="noopener nofollow">Upgrade Guide for Recovery Series and Unitrends Backup</a>.</p> <h2 data-id="incremental-forever-schedules-for-nas-cifs-and-nfs-assets"> <br>Incremental Forever schedules for NAS CIFS and NFS assets</h2> <p><br>You can now run incremental backups of your NAS CIFS and NFS assets to greatly reduce backup times and provide additional recovery points.</p> <h2 data-id="windows-agent"> <br>Windows agent</h2> <p><br>This release includes updated Windows core and bare metal agents. The 10.4.9 core agent is recommended for all Windows assets and is required for Windows fixes in this release.</p> <p> </p> <table border="1"><tbody><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1"><strong>IMPORTANT!</strong></td> <td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Windows image-level backups – After upgrading to the 10.4.9 agent, the next backup is automatically promoted to a full.</td> </tr></tbody></table><p><br><br></p> <h2 data-id="fixes">Fixes</h2> <p>The table below lists fixes included in this release. Unless stated otherwise, you can apply each fix by simply upgrading your appliance.</p> <p> </p> <table border="1"><tbody><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1"><strong>Component </strong></th> <th colspan="1" rowspan="1"><strong>Fix</strong></th> </tr><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Backups</td> <td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> <ul><li>VMware backups – Resolved an issue where new or migrated VMs were not being added to the backup schedule due to an XML size limitation.</li> <li>Windows image-level backups – Resolved an issue where an incremental could be promoted to a full in cases where a full was not needed. This fix requires the 10.4.9 Windows agent.</li> <li>Windows image-level backups – Resolved an issue that caused backups to fail with this error: <em>Process cannot be continued due to size and overlapping errors</em>. This fix requires the 10.4.9 Windows agent.</li> </ul></td> </tr><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Recovery</td> <td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> <ul><li>The following fixes require the 10.4.9 Windows agent. After upgrading to the 10.4.9 agent, the next Windows image-level incremental is automatically promoted to a full.</li> <li>Unified bare metal recovery of a Windows image-level backup – Resolved an issue where recovery failed with this error: <em>DiskMetaData: Failed to find at least one critical volume</em>.</li> <li>Unified bare metal recovery of a Windows image-level backup – Resolved an issue where recovery failed if the disk size was not a megabyte multiple.</li> <li>Unified bare metal recovery of a Windows image-level backup – Resolved an issue that caused the recovered asset to boot into repair mode.</li> </ul></td> </tr><tr><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Windows<br>agent<br>installer</td> <td colspan="1" rowspan="1"> <ul><li>Putty components have been removed from the installer.
