<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>For direct access to backup data files, for pulling full/incremental backup files to tape,</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <p>For direct access to backup data files, for pulling full/incremental backup files to tape, for example, you can expose an attached disk backup data store by enabling Raw Data Access.</p> <p><strong>Note</strong>: Attached disks are exposed as NFS by default. This can be changed to CIFS if needed using the Global Settings, Advanced Setting, <strong>Local Attached Disks Shared as </strong>option.</p> <h3 data-id="to-enable-raw-data-access-for-an-attached-disk">To enable Raw Data Access for an attached disk</h3> <p>1. On the Configure tab, select the appliance with the attached disk storage.</p> <p>2. In the Storage tab, select the storage to expose.</p> <p>3. Click Edit to open the Edit dialog for the storage.</p> <p>4. Click <strong>Enable Raw Data Access</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>You can now access the raw backup data by connecting directly to the appliance, using its IP address.</p> <p>If using NFS:</p> <p>[VBA IP address]:/mnt/bds/[UUID]</p> <p> </p> <p>If using CIFS:</p> <p>\\[VBA IP address]\[UUID]</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Note:</strong> When accessing the share, if prompted for a user name and password, use the credentials admin/password.</p> </article> </main>
