<main> <article class="userContent"> <h2 data-id="summary"><strong>SUMMARY</strong></h2> <p>SQL backup fails with incomplete backup received from client</p> <h2 data-id="issue"><strong>ISSUE</strong></h2> <p></p> <p>Windows agent SQL backups fail with the following message in the RRC: "incomplete backup recieved from client" when attempting a VSS SQL DB backup.</p> <p>a message like the following shows up in the WBPS log on the client:</p> <blockquote class="blockquote"> <p>May 25 09:58:29 : Unitrends SQL Server agent failed verify component '{A65FAA63-5EA8-4EBC-9DBD-A0C4DB26912A}:\DB2008\adminotg65' was not found in the writer components list! Aborting backup ...</p> <p>May 25 09:58:29 : - Please check the definitions of the component name in profile file: 'BackupTarget' and 'RestoreTarget'.</p> <p>May 25 09:58:29 : Unable to perform a backup of database 'adminotg65', instance 'DB2008': The problem occurred while trying to connect SQL Server VSS Writer.
